Refreshing Sugar Scrub – Perfect for Summer!

I shared a photo on my personal Facebook page last week of our end of the year gift for L’s preschool teachers.

One of those items is a Lemongrass Sugar Scrub.  After I posted the photo I had a few friends and family message or text me and as for the recipe.  It’s insanely easy!  And the more I use this DIY scrub the more I’m loving it so I thought I’d take a minute and write it up to share here as well.

First, I love sugar scrubs in general.  They are so easy to make and they leave your hands, feet, lips, etc. feeling amazing!

I also LOVE out Young Living Lemongrass Essential Oil.  Lemongrass has a super refreshing and uplifting scent.  It’s perfect for the upcoming summer months.  It’s an oil you may also find in DIY outdoor sprays for the summer and even something you may want to apply to your ankles after a long day of traveling in the car or by plane.  There are so many things I love Lemongrass essential oil for but I’m going to stop here and encourage you to do a little investigating on Google Scholar for yourself!

So now that we’ve got the particulars out of the way as to why sugar scrubs and Lemongrass essential oil are amazing let’s get to the super simple recipe!

Ingredients:

1.5 c sugar (white or raw is fine!)

1/3 c olive oil

10 drops of Lemongrass essential oil

In a stainless steel or glass mixing bowl combine sugar, olive oil and Lemongrass EO until blended.

Store in an airtight container.

That’s it – it’s that easy! I have been keeping this in our downstairs bathroom and using it on my hands daily.  I also used it on my feet after a morning of berry picking with friends and it was heavenly! I can’t wait to make another batch using a different essential oil.  I think next time I may use Joy, my favorite Young Living blend.
