We introduced Lucas to our Elf last year and I’m not sure who had more fun with all of his shenanigans, him or Mommy!
Here are our top ideas from last year. I’m already planning some fun new things for this year as well (but luckily L is young enough that I think I can reuse several of these).
A Decoration Disaster!
Chippy decided to help Mommy put up some holiday decorations and got himself a little suck. Lucas saw him as soon as we walked down the stairs, which he loved!
Some cotton balls, string and tape and Chippy has himself a snow ball fight!
Elf Needs a Doctor!
Lucas got a cold last winter and it looks like Chippy caught it too. He even used one of my dish towels as his blanket.
Midnight Snack, Anyone?
Even Santa’s helpers get hungry and need a snack now and then. Our elf borrowed L’s plate and sippy and helped himself to some crackers.
A Messy Kitchen!
Chippy wanted to help Mommy and made Lucas some Peppermint Playdough and made a huge mess in the process!
It’s Not Halloween Silly Elf!
Our elf got his hands on some leftover Halloween stickers and decided to do some decorating – including himself! Lucas thought it was super silly.
Storytime with Friends
This one is super easy and kids seem to love seeing their Elf with their other toys and stuffed animals.
He Delivers Breakfast
We don’t do sweet breakfast a lot but I figured a treat near the holidays was in order. And it was even more fun for Chippy to bring it – and sneak a few bites in the process.
A Christmas Basket
I had planned on giving L a basket with pj’s, a DVD and hot chocolate at some point during the season and figured it would be more special coming from Chippy.
What’s a better project for your elf than handing your stockings? In fact, I really did use Chippy to help me get a lot of decorating done this past year…
Are you doing Elf on the Shelf this year? Have you done it in the past? What are some of your favorite ways to have your Elf waiting for your kid(s) in the morning?
